The Center for Disaster Risk Management and Community Development Studies (CDRM&CDS) is a department of HKBP Nommensen University. The CDRM&CDS has developed 6 years strategy to work with various communities of North and West Sumatera. It is in process to affiliate with Lutheran World Federation based in Geneva as associate program member. Locally, CDRM&CDS is supported by Lutheran Churches of Indonesia and their diaconal departments.
CDRM&CDS is located in Simalingkar, Medan. The programs are focused on disaster risk management and capacity building of the communities in livelihood. The CDRM & CDS has 4 field projects: Simalingkar, Nias, Pakpak (North Sumatera) and Mentawai (West Sumatera). CDRM&CDS Nias field office is seeking for persons having good working track record, 2 years of experience in community empowerment, especially on disasterosk management and training facilitation. A good learning attitude is more important than other factors.
Community Empowerment Facilitator (CEF)

Selected candidate will organize, assist and facilitate the communities to improve their capacities in village level. S/he is responsible to prepare activity and budget plan monthly at village level and report to Field Coordinator. A job description is available in its office in address below.
General requirements:

Minimum Diploma 3 in social science, education, health and agricultural; a bachelor degree on these faculties can also apply.
Strong interpersonal, communication and facilitate skill
Cultural sensitivity to work with different communities
Interest for good learning
Minimum age 25 years
Willingness live in village (remote area) of Nias Island
Efficient in both writing and speaking Bahasa Indonesia
